Editorial Policy

A site publishing hundreds of pages about one game risks becoming filler with a search term attached. These are the rules we hold ourselves to so that does not happen, and the specific checks that enforce them.

Every page has to say something

A guide is not published unless it contains a judgment: a ranking, a recommendation, a verdict that something is overrated. Databases have no opinions, which is exactly why they are unsatisfying to read. If a page has nothing to add beyond restating card text, it does not get written.

No page is a template of another page

Before publication, every page is compared against every other page in its section for textual similarity, and anything above a set threshold is rejected and rewritten. Each page must also use its own examples rather than recycling the same illustrative cards. No two pages may open with the same sentence or share a question in their FAQ.

Claims are sourced and dated

Rules statements cite the Comprehensive Rules by number. Card data comes from Scryfall, Commander statistics from EDHREC. Every page lists its sources and shows when the data was last checked, because a six month old price presented as current is a lie of omission.

Corrections are visible

When we get something wrong we fix the page and move its updated date. We do not quietly republish at a new URL to bury the history. If you find an error, thecontact page is the fastest route to a fix.

Commercial content is labelled

Pages carrying affiliate links declare it above the first link. Rankings are set before commission rates are considered. Full detail in theaffiliate disclosure.

Nothing is gated

No paywall, no signup wall, no email capture in exchange for content. This is both our preference and a condition of the Wizards of the Coast Fan Content Policy the site operates under. Read more about the site.
